There’s a tiny bit of back-story here, which is that the sponsor of AB1176 is Tom Ammiano, former stand-up comic from San Francisco (and, I have to say, a kick-ass assemblyman). Ammiano and Schwarzenegger have something of a tit-for-tat thing going. I believe the last volley was Ammiano sending the Gubernator on his way from an unexpected (and unwanted) drop-in to a Democratic fundraiser with “You can kiss my gay ass.”
The California state government continues to put the “fun” in “dysfunctional.”
